1-Chuen Trecena’s theme: Abundance
Begins 20 April 2019 & 5 January 2020
Aztec deity ruling all Chuen days: Xochipilli (God of Music and Dance)
The Mayan glyph for Chuen is the inside of a monkey’s mouth and the Aztec glyph for Ozomahtli is a monkey’s head; the Aztec god of scribing and writing is depicted as a monkey. Chuen represents creativity, artistry, and cleverness. Chuen days are times of whimsy, representing a unique point of view and finding fun. The monkey may warn of a too-serious life, lacking spice and won- derment.
